Today Project Management plays a fundamental role in nowadays business environment. Paying exclusive attention to the project management can quickly become an extremely important issue for many organizations in order to achieve strategic goals and to meet economic environment challenges. There are many tools, techniques and processes that will help you manage your projects more efficiently. However, beside all tools and techniques the success of a project depends on the Project Manager.
Despite meticulous planning and risk-management processes, a Project Manager may encounter, on a near-daily basis, such events as the failure of workers, failure of reached project planning results and etc. In order to deal with such problems Project Manager must constantly understand the general steps that he(she) can take to avoid or minimize these problems.
IPMA Competence Baseline (ICB), PMBOK® Guide and PRINCE2 are the most popular and common project management methodologies that guides project managers through the essentials for running a successful project.
General Project Management Stream provides students a basic understanding of project management principles.
Target:
The main aim of the General Project Management Stream is to introduce the essential project management tools based on project management knowledge. General Project Management Stream topics:
Developing and justifying project idea;
Good project charter/plan: secrets and challenges;
Tools for the planning project scope, time and cost;
Project team and project leader roles and responsibilities.
General Project Management Stream is based on a real case analysis and real time teamwork.
The course is not intended for students already enrolled in the European Master in Project Management.
Results: 3 ECTS for successful participation in the summer school, additional 3 ECTS for delivering a homework defined during the summer school.
